Full Professor in Medicine, Geriatrics and Gerontology profile.
Doctor of Medicine, with special award, Diploma in Consumption and Master in Management of Geriatric Centres and Clinical and Social Gerontology.
Director of the Gerontology and Geriatrics Research Group from the University of A Coruña and Director of Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Gerontology.
Four six-year of research activity (CNEAI-National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity), five five-year periods of teaching, 3 periods of positive assessment “Docentia” and eight stages of research and teaching excellence by the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Galicia (ACSUG).
Director of 22 doctoral theses as well as numerous works end of grade and end of Master and DEA. Author of more than 100 scientific articles, 72 of them indexed in the Web of Science (JCR) and 77 books and book chapters of which 26 are full books published by prestigious national or international editorials with ISBN.
He has participated as PI in 48 competitive projects, stressing the European Union 6 and 1 of the AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation). He has participated in 17 national and 19 international conferences, presenting more than 300 works, of which 30 were presentations by invitation.
